For those who weren’t aware, I have done a sporadic podcast in conjunction with the blog ever since 2015. I’ve recorded solo, I’ve recorded with guests, and I’ve recorded with a co-host. I’ve kind of been all over the place with it, over the course of about fifty five episodes or so. In fact, there hasn’t been a new episode recorded since I spoke with Melissa from Starbase Indy last November, due to life. However, I’m itching to start putting stuff together again, and talking to interesting Hoosier Geeks, so I figure it’s time to get things rolling again.
I’m working with my first guest of 2017, and I need to reach out to a few other people. I’ve had some really awesome people who have wanted to podcast with me, I am reaching out to some past guests for updates, and I’m hoping to rope Bri into doing some recording with me, as well! I’m experimenting with some new recording techniques, and I’m keeping the standard techniques on standby. This year, my focus is going to be back on doing a consistent podcast, that sounds good, and is entertaining.
Some changes I’m hoping to make this year will include new music from local artists (though, I really need to reach out to some of them!), a shorter introduction without the “Three Things You Need to Know”, because it was kind of redundant to put it up with Tuesday Tidbits, and a new outro. I’m still planning the same basic format, but I am also leaving myself open to changes. This is what I’m reaching out to you about.
I’ve got plans, all right, that isn’t going to change. However, I’m also open to suggestions. What would you be interested in hearing about? My plans are to reach out to local Geeks doing cool things, like local game developers, writers, artists, convention organizers, musicians, fellow bloggers, and cosplayers. I want to talk with them, find out what they Geek out on, and just have a good conversation. I want to hear stories, I want to converse, and I want it to be about them. On top of that, what would you like to know?
On top of that, who would you like me to talk to? I have a list of people that could take care of a weekly podcast if I had the time, but who do you know that would be someone people would love listening to? You can feel free to put yourself, if you so desire! Heck, I am not the person to judge others for promoting themselves! Please, send ideas to HeadGeek@IndianaGeeking.com so I can keep track of them easier, and be able to reach out and discuss better. Also, remember I’m always open to suggestions and constructive criticism!
I’m hoping to have the first episode of 2017 up by Thursday, March 2nd. From there, I’ll be going every other week, until I get back into the swing of things. Then, if I can line up enough guests, I’m hoping to go back weekly by late Spring.
Cross your fingers, and wish me luck!
