Usually I have some sort of thing to say when I write these posts; something that’s been on my mind for a while and poking at the back of my brain, encompassing every frickin’ frackin’ thing I do with myself until I just, like, get it all out there. Just let it flow, ya know?
Unfortunately for you, I’ve somehow acquired a fine bottle of Scotch.*
On this lovely evening I am sitting next to my lovely husband while he draws the next page of his graphic novel** series. I’ve purely by accident put on The Best of Technotronic and I do not regret a single second of it.
Huh. Upon further discussion with smexy over there, it turns out I’ve never actually listened to Technotronic on purpose.
Nope. Still no regrets. This shit is tight.
So I’m writing this off the cuff junk for you tonight, sippin’ my whiskey and harassing the rest of the Geeking crew on Twitter, I’m feeling a yearning, nay, a burning need for the intricately detailed items handmade by Sucre Sucre Miniatures.*** Y’all already know my feelings on hot dogs if you’ve read my previous posts, so you can imagine.
What do you mean you can’t imagine? Seriously, do you know how rad hot dogs are?
Whoop, looks like the music has switched to Janelle Monáe. Yusss.
Okay so now I’m gonna ramble on about hot dogs. Guys. I love hot dogs. They’re delicious, iconic, and mysterious. And like, amazing. Hot. Dogs. Hot dogs.
I love hot dogs so much I… I’ve created a convention sketch book themed entirely around hot dogs.
Yes, it is as glorious as it sounds. Just think of it! Friends and acquaintances, all weird-as-shit comic artists doing a double take that slowly turns into a worrying grin when I corner them and say, “hey! Will you draw in my convention book? It’s themed, though. Will you draw me… a hot dog?”
And this thing is still going. It’s not even half full. All of you are potentially amazing friends that are just waiting to draw hot dogs for my own personal amusement.
I think my next themed con sketchbooks should veer away from the food theme, though. I’m sure there will be many great hits, such as The Mer-person Book****, The Love Crafty Book†, and my future favorite, The Technotronic Booty Book.
See how I brought that back around? Hahahahhaaaaaa, oh god I should go to bed‡.
* I bought it. I bought the bottle of Scotch. The manner of how I acquired it wasn’t really much of a mystery. I mean, it’s not like it rained down from the heavens and collected in a scotch barrel I’ve got set up in my back yard. As amazing as that would be, think of all the impurities I’d have to filter out, let alone the bugs and bird feathers. Y’all know Drinky Crow would be up on that in a hot second.
Seriously though, Scotch. Scotch. This is the drink of the Gods. Anyone that disagrees can just hand over their Scotch to me right now because they clearly don’t deserve it.
** How are you not reading Little Guardians right now. I’m legitimately baffled by this.
*** Yes, I did, in fact, order a custom hot dog necklace. AND hamburger earrings. I’m so excited you guys.
**** Just think of it, a whole book of mer-people. Hopefully it would be as amazing as the comic About Merpeople by Megan Nicole Dong. You didn’t think I’d leave you hanging without lots of wicked awesome links this week, did you?
† Yo gurl, feel free to take this one if you’re super into Lovecraftian stuff. I know it’ll be a while until I get around to it. Just make sure you let your local Indiana-based geek blog§ know all about it!
‡Upon looking at this the next morning, I see the topic strayed to and stayed on con sketchbooks. I cannot recommend having a con sketchbook enough. Get yourself a nice notebook and take that shit with you to every con you go to. Get drawings from new friends! Scribble down bits of prose about the super good times you had! Maybe draw yourself on a few pages holding up your shirt and have celebrities sign that instead of your actual skin; it certainly won’t wash off in the morning! Oh gosh, you gotta make con books so you can have the best personalized book of your experiences EVAR.
§ …it’s us. I was referring to us. Was that not clear? Also, is it bad form to put a footnote within a footnote? I’ve been feeling very footnotey today.
EDIT:
OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH YOU GUUUUUUUUUUUUYS THEY’RE HERE AAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Oh. My. God. Tony, PLEASE have her write more posts like this. Scotch based posts should be more common on this blog.
